NEWS: [5/04/01] Microsoft Bob '01 shipped on schedule today. The productivity suite consists of upgraded versions of Writ and Excelent, along with added personal information management and document management tools. New features include two cute animated characters, Gus and Wilbur, and "Data Court," which allows users to sort through data and find the best version of conflicting personal information or documents. Bill Gates made the announcement of the product's release in a multicast this morning. In keeping with the low-end home target market, Gates spoke from the play room of his mansion. Inexpensive and early computing items, including Gates's first keyboard, were on display. |
