  • Quiz 1 is scheduled for October 10, 2013 (Th), from 7:30-9:30 pm in room 26-100. It will cover material up to lecture 7, recitation 9 and PS3, i.e., everything from the first day of class up to convolutional codes. You may bring one 2-sided crib sheet and a calculator to the quiz.

  • If you have a conflict and cannot attend Quiz 1 at its scheduled time, please fill out this form by Friday, October 4. Unless there is a note from S^3, we cannot accommodate late makeup requests.

  • Scheduling Check-offs: Your assigned interviewer will be in touch to find a mutually convenient time for the checkoff interview. The interviews are in the 6.02 lab (38-530), unless specified otherwise by your interviewer. You should come prepared to run the submitted Python tasks, either on your laptop or on one of the debathena workstations in the lab. Interviews are approximately 15-20 minutes long.

  • Please attend your assigned recitation sections. To find out your assigned recitation section, please click on the Online grades link on the left, which will show you your recitation section number (along with the name of your TA, aka interviewer for checkoffs).

  • Lab staffing starts Sunday, 9/8. Please see the Lab Hours (link on the left nav bar) for a detailed staffing schedule.

  • Solutions to the problems at the end of Chapters 2 and 3 will be posted later. Also remember to check out the online practice problems (link on left).

Week of September 2, 2013

  • Problem set 1 is released now. Please find it on the class Web site by clicking on "PS1" in the navigation bar. The problem set has six theory exercises and three Python coding assignments. The whole assignment is due Sep-19-2013 at 06:01am.

  • Please read the course info page, which describes course mechanics and policies, and the learning objectives.

  • Sign up on Piazza: We'll use the 6.02 Piazza forum for Q&A and other discussions on PSets and the course.

  • In order to use our lab facilities, students are required to read, understand and sign the electrical safety information at the following link, if they have not previously done so:
    https://eecs-ug.scripts.mit.edu:444/safety/index.py/6.02
    This should be completed before entering the lab area in Room 38-530 for the first time.

  • Consult the Course Calendar for a detailed schedule of lectures, recitations, labs and quizzes.

  • Portions of this web site require MIT certificates and have been tested with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. If you're having trouble with one browser, try another. If the problem persists across browsers, post the symptoms of the problem on Piazza, including the details of your browser and machine.
