Preparation for Recitation 10

Read End-to-end Arguments in System Design (Reading #10 in course packet). As you read this paper, think about the following questions:

• How does the end-to-end argument apply to other systems you know about, for example, the X window system?
• How does the packet voice example make use of the end-to-end argument?
• Is it OK for lower levels to do a bad job? Why should they do error detection and correction?
