Game Stats

First Half Recap:

In their last non-conference game of the season, MIT jumped out to the early lead. Freshman Adam Gibbons got the Engineers going off a pretty backdoor layup, which was followed by a three-pointer by sophomore Andrew Tsai. On the defensive end, MIT shut down Wentworth as the Engineers forced tough shots that led to easy scores on offense. Sophomore Kyle Doherty dominated the interior, finishing off passes from the dribble penetration of freshman Danny Kanamori. But, it was Doherty's dunk in traffic that ignited the Engineers and gave way to a 10-0 spurt before halftime. Freshman Eli Sheets then hit a three-pointer during that stretch and a three-pointer by Gibbons right before the buzzer gave the Engineers a commanding 36-18 lead going into halftime.

Second Half Recap:

MIT came out a little sluggish in the second half as Wentworth tried to creep back into the game. However, the Engineers responded with inside baskets from junior forward Boris Paskalev and freshman Mike Huhs. The Engineers' defense then responded, getting several stops as Kanamori continued his steady point guard play, finding open teammates for shots as the Engineers soon put the game out of reach.
