Sophmore Adam Gibbons returns this year as one of the captains of the team. Last year he averaged 14 points per game, 31.5 minutes per game , and was named rookie of the year for the MIT Engineers.

Adam Gibbons came to MIT from Bridgewater-Raritan High School in Brigewater, NJ. There, he received first team All-Conference, All-County, All-Area, and All-Group IV honors. Adam was also named third team All-State. During his tenure in Bridgewater, Adam helped lead his team to back-to-back conference, county, and group IV central jersey championships, as well as an appearance in the state finals. As captain, under head coach Tim Ortelli, Gibbons helped his team earn a 25-2 record his senior year.

Adam's mother, Celeste, and father, Walter, are both strong supporters of MIT basketball. Walter, in fact, is a graduate of MIT. Adam's two younger sisters, Melanie and Felicia, both play basketball as well. Melanie is a junior in high school, and Felicia is in eighth grade.
