Angry Octopus, Midair
Elevation of our house plus flying altitude is approximately 680 ft above sea level. For extra geekiness, altitude was determined with the use of an old-fashioned trig lookup table. (Google Earth lists 40 Meola Ave, Worcester, MA at an elevation of 653 feet. Rose used trigonometry to estimate the elevation of our flying octopus above the ground, as 26 feet. (Actually 25 feet 10 inches). We decided to estimate to two significant digits.) |
