Bimaculoides on Mount Sulphur
Bimaculoides took the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain today, and climbed the boardwalk up to Sanson Peak and the Cosmic Ray Observatory. Peakfinder.com lists the altitude of Sanson Peak at 7402 feet, with the following coordinates: North 51; 09; 05, West 115; 35; 00. Photographs below show Bimaculoides enjoying the view at the observatory, with the GPS displaying an altitude of 7537 feet, and coordinates: North 51 deg 8.827', West 115 dec 34.716'. The peakfinder.com altitude of 7402 feet should be accepted, as the vertical accuracy of handheld GPS units is usually poor - the photographs are evidence that Bimaculoides was actually there.
