Marcus Thompson is Robert R. Taylor Professor of Music at MIT and a Margaret McVicar Faculty Fellow. He has served on the faculty since 1973. He is director of the MIT Chamber Music Society and of the Emerson private study program.
Marcus Thompson's recitals and appearances with orchestra are by arrangement with Joanne Rile Artists Management, Inc.
Marcus Thompson has served on the string faculty at the New England Conservatory, where he teaches viola, since 1983.
Marcus Thompson is a founding member of the Boston Chamber Music Society and has played in its Boston series and national and international tours since 1982.
