Brief Desciption
Burton-Conner, an MIT dorm, houses 344 undergraduates on nine floors, each with their own unique personality. If you are having trouble finding us, just check the map.
The student government in Burton-Conner House is comprised of two main bodies, the Executive Committee (ExecComm) and the Judiciary Committee (JudComm). Supporting these two committees are various coordinator positions, each coordinator in charge of a specific aspect of life at Burton-Conner.
Besides the house-wide government, each of the nine floors in the house maintain their own local governments, headed by a floor chairperson (who is a voting member of ExecComm).
The institute provides support for the residents in the guise of the housemasters ( Halston and Kathy Taylor and their children Spencer and Lexie.), and with a graduate resident tutor for each floor. These people provide emotional support and advice, and act as liaison between residents and the institute when necessary.

Security
The dorm is locked 24 hours a day. From midnight to 8:00am there is a nightwatchman who makes rounds during the night. If you get locked out of your room call x3-1500 and he/she will respond.
Facilities
Burton-Conner provides full kitchen facilities for all its residents and each floor has a lounge for communal use.
There are also a variety of rooms for the entire house to use. These
rooms are:
- Library and study carrels
- Drafting room
- Conference room
- Troost lounge
- Music rooms
- Soloist room
- Weight room
- Bike storage
- Storage room
- Ping-pong game room
- Rathskellar/TV room
- Dining hall (not a working cafeteria)
Also provided for residents' convenience are barbeque pits and a snack bar (open Sun-Thurs, 9pm-lam). Sports equipment and VCRs are available from the coordinators. Work is currently underway to refurbish a functional hobby shop; some tools are available from the hobby shop coordinator.
Front Desk
Another amenity provided is the services of the front desk, supported by MIT's Housing Office. The front desk is open from 8am-2am, seven days a week, even on major holidays.

- Vacuum cleaners
- Equipment for pool table
- Sports equipment
- Packages and UPS pickup
- Cots
- Photocopies
- MIT directories and other phone books
- Change provided
The desk is supervised by the House Manager, Ken Donaghey, and by the desk captain, who is a resident of the house. Any problems should be brought to their attention, or by filling out a repair slip (located opposite the desk).
Maintenance & Repair Work
In order to get any repair work done in your room or suite fill out a blue repair slip available outside the front desk. Emergency repair between 7:30 AM - 4:00PM can be obtained by contacting the House Manager. At any other time emergency repairs can be obtained by calling Physical Plant at x3-4948 (xF-IXIT).

Burton-Conner is divided up into nine floors. Each floor has its own individual personality. As a Burton-Conner resident you will participate in numerous activities such as floor trips and study breaks during the school year. There are 4 floors on Conner side.
