![]() Welcome to Burton-Conner, a dormitory that offers more privileges than almost any other dormitory on campus. We are one of only two dormitories to contain a fully-equipped Athena cluster. Burton-Conner is located next to the tennis courts and vast Briggs field. Furthermore, the rowing pavilion is just across the street on the other side of Burton-Conner. For those rainy, cold days you can stay inside and choose from playing pool or table tennis; using our well-furnished weight room, music room, drafting room, or dark room; or renting a movie from the extensive movie library. Finally, for those late nights, Burton-Conner is a stop on the Cambridge Safe Ride route. Under a new plan, Burton-Conner is expected to offer catered dinners so you don't have to cook or order out every night. For those of you who enjoy cooking, Burton-Conner is ideal. We are unique in that our dormitory comprises 9 floors which in turn are divided into suites. Each suite has 2 refrigerators, 1 stove, a lounge, and a bathroom shared by 3 to 8 people. This living arrangement fosters a close unit of people who look after one another. While you will never be lonely at Burton-Conner, we feel very strongly about your privacy. Burton-Conner is the only dormitory to observe quiet hours late at night. There is also a library where you can study in peace. In addition, over 50% of all sophomores get a single. Burton-Conner is a very active dormitory. Last year we sponsored several social events, including a weekend ski trip, an inter-floor competition called the wacky olympics, 2 semiformals, parties, a trip to Jillian's in Boston, and a student-faculty dinner. Burton-Conner has a very active student government from floor chairs to dormitory officers to a judicial committee. Any problems are quickly resolved. The House Master, Halston Taylor, and graduate resident tutors on each floor are easily accessible and always willing to help. Please drop by. We will be glad to address any concerns of yours. We have also planed many activities during R/O so that you can meet us. You can learn more about our home through our dormitory overview.
