About Us

No matter what sort of person you are, you'll find something to love about C-entry!

  • You'll never be bored: press play and enjoy as our two TVs and 110-inch state-of-the-art projector screen deliver the ultimate in movie and gaming experiences. MIT Cable delivers all the TV you'll need, and you'll likely meet people you didn't know lived down the hall from you when they emerge each week for episodes of House. Our massive collection of board and card games provides endless hours of entertainment with friends and neighbors. There's Scrabble for the intellectually-minded, various forms of Munchkin for the roleplayers, Risk for the megalomaniacs, and Cranium for everyone! Just pick a game, and you'll find that C-entry residents are always enthusiastic and willing to join in.

  • You'll never be lonely: our diverse group of denizens are exceedingly intelligent, friendly, interesting, laid-back, and helpful, and there are almost always people hanging out in the entry lounge. Insomnia? Procrastinating? Just bored? Come to the entry lounge - chances are there are people there who'd be happy to engage you in a conversation till after sunrise on no particular topic. Or bring your dinner to the lounge and eat in the company of your friends and neighbors. When they're not working, C-entry residents greatly enjoy informal social gatherings, study breaks, homework groups, off-campus trips, and various forms of parties. And when that deadline creeps up, you can feel comfortable tooling either in the lounge or in your room; all of us would be happy to help in any way we can. Whether your door is open or closed, residents will always treat you with respect and decency.

  • You'll never go hungry: our social chairs strive to organize frequent and fun food events, and all residents are always invited to join in. We are happy to have food for any occasion, whether it's a holiday (of any religion - C-entry is strictly non-denominational and very tolerant of others), a birthday (of a resident, a famous person, or even a fictional character), or just a random Thursday... we'll take any excuse we can think of to get together and celebrate! Past C-entry citizens have been invited to enjoy everything from cookie decorating and s'mores made over the electric stove to custom pancakes, a chocolate fountain, an Easter ham, and even a full Thanksgiving turkey dinner. And don't worry, we strive to meet your desires and needs, so there are always vegetarian options too.

  • No room is a bad one: from our 7th, 8th, and 9th floor rooms, you'll love the breathtaking views of the historic city of Boston from across the calm, stream-fed waters of the Charles River, as well as ten miles of visibility across northwestern Cambridge, and much of MIT's unique architecture. Sunsets and sunrises alike are always beautiful out C-entry windows, and many residents are some of the first to know when dome hacks take place thanks to our expansive views across campus to the Great and Little Domes. Citizens enjoy great flexibility with their room layouts as well as their rooming choice for the following year, so you'll always have a chance to get that perfect view!

If this sounds like paradise to you, come visit us sometime. We're easy to reach, just take the MacGregor elevator to the 8th floor. We are welcoming and friendly, we love to meet new people, and we'd be happy to let you join in!
