EGAP 2011 Call for Members

The Experiments in Governance and Politics Network (EGAP) is pleased to announce a call for up to 12 new members.
The group: EGAP is a network of scholars and practitioners who are engaged in the implementation or analysis of field and lab based experimental research on questions related to governance and politics in international development. The network is housed at the Center for Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law at Stanford, supported by the Hewlett Foundation, and includes over fifty members from thirty five universities and international organizations.
Meetings and Activities: The network meets twice a year to discuss new and ongoing research in this field. Other activities include establishing a peer review service for new experimental designs and a set of standards and protocols for work in this field. The first meeting of the group was held at Yale in April 2009 and subsequent meetings have been held at Columbia, Trinity College Dublin, NYU, and the World Bank. The next meeting will be held at MIT on 4-5 November 2011.
Application Process: The application process is open to researchers and practitioners who are engaged in the implementation, management, or analysis of experimental research on issues related to the interests of the network in the field of governance, politics, and international development. Applicants — be they researchers or evaluation officers — from international organizations that are applying these methods to understand the effects of their interventions are especially encouraged.
