I put together a few 6" LeMoyne star blocks to master the y-seam technique. I liked them enough that I went on to make a whole quilt of them, with the layout inspired by Bonnie Hunter's Random Ohio Stars.
Once it was together, I got very distracted figuring out how to quilt it. I eventually coded up python script that output postscript, then played around to come up with a bunch of examples that I liked.
There's several of each size (6" and 9") but the quilting patterns do repeat.
