I thank the Lord for Alex Slocum...
the man who saw me as an innovator,
not another token to be poking;
took my crew too-
and said he'd pull us through,
a genuine samaritan to
help those that he never knew.
I grew up poor,
with the vision for a little more,
people in my corner
aided breakin down doors
to opportunity-
and I am soon to see a better day,
wanna make a change
for those stuck to face the old way.
Mental patience
to avoid a nervous breakdown-
seek solutions
hope to turn the victim lives around.
Don't want the top
if I must be there alone,
shine a light into these homes
and let them know I'm on it.
