LIONEL NGAKANE is to be awarded a Doctor of Literature, honoris
causa, by the University of Natal. The Degree will be conferred
upon Ngakane at the University's April 22 Graduation Ceremony

The degree is being awarded in recognition of Lionel's
outstanding lifetime contribution to the development of
African and South African cinema, and as an actor, cultural
organiser and film maker.
