According to the April-June 1997 African Film and TV magazine, there is a
new wave of investment in revitalizing cinemas in southern Africa. Four new

screens opened in Harare in April and six more are opening in November.
Refurbishing of a few cinema halls is going on in Zambia and Mozambique as
well.

The four new screens in Harare have proven a resounding success and have
doubled box office gross in Zimbabwe.

Also more small 90-150 seat video theatres are beginning to open, which
could become a new trend in bringing cinema to the people.

Sounds like a great trend to me...
