    Anyone out there with experience teaching Julie Dash's
    *Daughters of the Dust*? Apart from the fact that its so
    unHollywood-like, it seems to me that the characters speak a
    language that would also create problems even for an
    audience of American students. How do you teach this
    difficult but wonderful film? Are there any readings you
    could suggest?
