A couple of short films by Mansour Sora Wade (of Senegal) that would be
suitable (for adults too!) include "Picc Mi/Little Bird" and " Fary
l'anesse/Fary the Donkey"- both are 20 min. or under.
" Picc mi" is a story of two destitute boys who escape
predatory demands of adults to spend one day of freedom
" Fary l'anesse" is a tale of a man led into folly by
his pursuit of the perfect woman. When he thinks he has
finally found her, she turns out to be a donkey. They are in Wolof, but
available with English subtitles - I believe California Newsreel has both
titles.
