    Hi there--

Mill Valley Film Festival opens this week, on Thursday October 2, and runs
through October 12. Our African selections this year are Idrissa
    Ouedraogo's KINI AND ADAMS, Jean-Marie Teno's CLANDESTINE, Gaston Kabore's
BUUD YAM, and Ramadan Suleman's FOOLS.

There are several other films of African American interest--Spike Lee's
FOUR LITTLE GIRLS, Peter Meyer's CAN'T YOU HEAR THE WIND HOWL?
THE LIFE AND MUSIC OF ROBERT JOHNSON (a live performance by
Honeyboy Edwards follows the screening); and the world premiere of
Anna Nicholas' UNIVERS'L. Shorts include Amyn Kaderali's LITTLE MAN,
Wellington Bowler's TRAIN, Ian Moore's EBONIC PLAGUE, Cynthia Madansky's
INTERNAL COMBUSTION, Sid Quashie's FORTUNATE SON.

For info: call 415-383-5346, or visit our website: www.finc.org/mvff

Mill Valley is just north of San Francisco--hope some of you may be in the
    area and can visit us!

    All the best--
    Zoe
