The girl breaks free from her mother's iron grip and dashes through the doorway after the woman. She is brought up short by the darkness and light reflecting off a glass case and the exotic screen behind it. Enraptured, she does not notice that the woman in white has turned at the base of the stairs. The woman stares at the girl as the girl stares at the screen, then clears her throat.
