"Sarah's secret agent," Norman said seriously, "Our days are numbered."
"So are our minutes," Annie replied.
"Come on then," Norman said grabbing Annie's hand.
"What?" Annie said surprised.
"It's now or never. What do you say? We can be through the gap in the hedge and halfway down
the lane before they realize we've gone."
Annie drew her hand back, "Oh, Norman..."
"What to stop us? I love you--you love me--we're in love. We should be together. It's right.
Believe me, it's right." Norman implored.
"Mother's pills..." Annie stammered.
"Eh?" Norman stopped his imploring.
"I can't just rush away. I have to explain to them about Mother's pills." Annie said.
"My God!" Norman cried,"The course of true love shattered, not by the furies, not by the fates
but by Mother's bleeding pills."
"Calm down Norman," Annie said. Norman simmered down, "That's it then," he said.
"Yes. That's it," said Annie.
They stood there a bit longer, and then the door opened.
