Translation of Papyrus #43, Batch #7, Site A

Translation by Dr. Sarah Mercer

One full moon has passed. Ehab now lives with Zahi at the quarry. Imhotep is the master builder but is not right to say that cutters cannot talk of small people. Imhotep took writings made while in tomb and looks for others. (Tablets, pages) will be given to Zahi for safe keeping. Zahi will speak to cutters at the quarry to find work for Ehab. Cutting at the quarry will be more difficult but safer. Tomorrow Ehab will ask how stones get so smooth and flat and perfect. One day Ehab will return to Giza.
This is another papyrus that speaks for itself. Imhotep was obiously not able to find the writings of Ehab. That makes me wonder what the other artifacts from the Everett dig contain. Writings of other workers? More stories by Ehab? These papyri deserve much more attention than I have given them here. They could be the most siginificant find pertaining to Giza.
