Student Life
Students meet outstanding practitioners from many sectors of the industry and regions of the country through guest lectures in many of the Real Estate courses. These presentations allow students and guests to engage in wide-ranging conversations on topics of mutual interest. The Careers in Real Estate series also brings heads of real estate firms to the Center to talk about career opportunities in their sector of the industry.
Students are encouraged to organize their own group events according to their interests. In the past, they have arranged breakfast meetings with local and visiting industry practitioners, sponsored site visits, and organized discussion sessions and study groups

Athletic activities are student-organized and enthusiastically supported. The Center has fielded many winning ice hockey teams over the years and students also take part in other intramural sports such as squash, softball, and tennis. Student runners have competed in the Boston Marathon. Sailors launch into the Charles River from the MIT Boat House.
The rich educational, cultural and entertainment resources of the Boston area are within easy reach of the MIT campus by public transportation and are popular with students during periods of leisure. The beaches and mountains of New England are less than two hours away by bus or car.

Alumni of the MSRED program also plan events for current students for fun and networking.
