The Cambridge Center Marriott at Kendall Square (MBTA Red Line) will serve as the headquarters hotel for guest accommodations, and a block of rooms will be available to DPS participants at a special discounted rate. The hotel is adjacent to the east side of the MIT campus and is 800 meters from the meeting site. Participants may use the reservation form included with this announcement or call the hotel reservations department directly at 617-494-6600 and ask for the group name “Division for Planetary Sciences.” The hotel reservation deadline is July 14, 1997. A portion of the room block is also available for three days prior to and following the meeting dates for those wishing to enjoy an extended stay in the area. Government-Rate Rooms. A limited number of government-rate rooms will be available by telephone reservation only. Those reserving a government-rate room will be required to present a current federal or state employee photo I.D. upon check-in. Please note that the hotel does not accept travel orders as a form of I.D. and that government contractors are not entitled to this rate. If proper identification is not provided at check-in, the guest will be charged the current corporate rate of $209 plus tax. The hotel is unable to make any exceptions to this policy. |
