1.1.1 Audience
- Primary audience: Expert but not intimate with details of your project.
- 621 instructional faculty (not just your advisor): This audience will
assess your reports on clarity, theoretical understanding, experimental
approach, creativity, and ability to manage your project. They will not
tolerate jargony shorthand statements or unclear thinking.
- Laboratory staff: They will assist you in designing and building your
test apparatus. They will carefully assess your experimental approach.
- Secondary audience: Also expert but not directly assessing your project,
or reviewing these documents in the future.
- Other 621 students this term.
- Advisor: Knowledgeable of her or his own projects, but not grading
you. Don't be lulled into a false sense of confidence because your
advisor seems to understand everything you say in meetings.
- Future 621 students who will build upon your work by studying these
written documents.
