Building Sustainable Systems That Last
The Engineering Division, working closely with Campus Planning and Design, helps plan for sustainable building systems from engineering new complexes to pioneering waste treatment options for a single site. The group guides MIT clients to the best options in sustainable building design and recommends investments that support long-term benefits.
The group's objectives include conservation of electrical power, steam, water, and sewage systems; expansion of central chilled water-based cooling for buildings; and evaluation of building systems. The Engineering staff advises project managers executing renovation and expansion projects.
