We regret to announce that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the FTO Program will be ending in June, 2006.
Many students have expressed interest in applying during the June '06 admissions season. Unfortunately, we will NOT be accepting any new applications to join the program. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Technology
is reshaping the Financial Services Industry at a rapidly accelerating
pace. Power
is shifting toward the investor as trading costs plummet and access
widens to information and analytical tools for investment decision
support.
By introducing the Financial Technology Option (FTO), MIT is taking
a position on the skills needed by the next generation of leaders
in this industry. The Option is designed to produce sophisticated
graduates solidly grounded in both finance and the technologies
which will shape the industry. While centered in the Sloan School
and Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the
program involves graduate students from across campus.
Support
for the FTO and for research related to financial technology is
provided by the MIT-Merrill Lynch Partnership and State Street Global
Advisors.
