Using the MIT campus as our site, participants will work with Artist in Residence Diane Willow, sculptor of SEAt, to research and make a series of ephemeral, multi-sensory art objects and installations. This is an invitation to explore our personal and cultural conceptions of nature and the relationship of nature and technology. Each session will focus on artistic investigations of natural materials and processes and creative explorations with technology. Past examples of the artist's work involving wind, leaves, crickets, sensors, waves, fans, and timelapse video will introduce new mediums of expression and upcoming projects.
PARTICIPANTS WELCOME AT INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS OR FULL SERIES OF 3 INSTALLATIONS. ATTEND FIRST MEETING IN E15-135; SCHEDULE OF SESSIONS AND FUTURE MEETING SITES TBD WITH PARTICIPANTS.
