Les Blank's independent films present a series of intimate glimpses into the lives, food, and music of passionate people who live at the periphery of American and world society -- including rural Louisiana cooks, New Orleans musicians, Berkeley chef Alice Waters, a group of Serbian-Americans, and legendary German filmmaker Werner Herzog.
