LEAP (Lifetime Empowerment & Awareness Program) Self-Defense, Inc. provides both self-defense skills as well as a self-reflective component that focuses on keeping girls/women safe in their communities. The program teaches numerous physical self-defense techniques, safety and awareness skills, and builds confidence. Students will receive training in this course and become mentors ("Teaching Women") in Cambridge programs for girls aged 8-16. This course is directly linked to community service opportunities and will prepare MIT volunteers for spring Girls' LEAP programs.
