In November 2003, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court made an unprecedented move toward the legal recognition of same-sex unions in Massachusetts. But many questions remain. Join us for an open discussion of the legal, political, historical, and personal implications of the SJC's decision. How did this case come about, and what are the social and historical contexts out of which the freedom to marry movement has emerged? What, in plain English, does the Court decision say? What are the options for the people of Massachusetts? What might be the effect of the decision on the presidential election of 2004?
