About the IPC

The IPC is dedicated to the study of innovation, productivity and competitiveness in the U.S. and around the world. The Center specializes in bringing together multidisciplinary teams of researchers in engineering, science, management and the social sciences to carry out innovative, applied research on industrial growth and transformation, national and regional economic growth and competitiveness, and innovation performance. The IPC seeks to help leaders in business, government, education and other sectors of society better understand global industrial developments and create practical new approaches for strengthening public policies, business strategies, technical practices, and educational programs. The IPC Scale Up team, including Liz Reynolds, Hiram Samel and Joyce Lawrence are presenting their findings on how innovative production –oriented companies scale and some of the challenges they face at meetings of the NAS in Washington, D.C., the ISA in Kansas City, DRUID in Barcelona and SASE in Milan. The IPC and Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) are hosting their second roundtable discussion on June 18th in San Antonio, Texas to discuss regional strategies to accelerating the transition to a lower-carbon energy economy. CPS Energy will host the meeting which will focus on lessons learned from the Texas experience in energy innovation. The IPC hosted the MA Biomanufacturing Roundtable's Winter Meeting for a discussion on strategies for advancing cell therapy manufacturing capabilities in the region. Leaders from large and small biopharma companies as well as academia and research hospitals including Children’s Hospital gathered to discuss how to collaborate around this frontier technology.
