About the IPC

The IPC is dedicated to the study of innovation, productivity and competitiveness in the U.S. and around the world. The Center specializes in bringing together multidisciplinary teams of researchers in engineering, science, management and the social sciences to carry out innovative, applied research on industrial growth and transformation, national and regional economic growth and competitiveness, and innovation performance. The IPC seeks to help leaders in business, government, education and other sectors of society better understand global industrial developments and create practical new approaches for strengthening public policies, business strategies, technical practices, and educational programs. A preliminary report of the Production in the Innovation (PIE) Economy was released at a presentation at the National Academies on February 22nd. More...

 

The IPC Scale Up team, represented by Liz Reynolds and Richard Lester, presented their findings on how innovative production –oriented companies scale and some of the challenges they face. The IPC hosted the MA Biomanufacturing Roundtable on February 13th for a discussion on strategies for advancing cell therapy manufacturing capabilities in the region. Leaders from large and small biopharma companies as well as academia and research hospitals including Children’s Hospital gathered to discuss how to collaborate around this frontier technology. The IPC is partnering with Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) to hold several regional roundtable meetings across the country with senior energy leaders to discuss the role of regions in accelerating the transition to a lower-carbon energy economy.
