Building local and international collaborations is a priority, and to this end we work with several different organizations in order to meet our mission in the most efficient way possible.  Our affiliate organizations include:

LimaKids is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of orphaned and street children of Peru. We began with The LimaKids Soccer League, an innovative new way to address the mental health problems which result from childhood victimization, using soccer as our medium. We later teamed up with Puentes to improve the quality of life of institutionalized children through recreational activities.  Our reach to the community of abandoned children soon expanded to include a larger spectrum of kids by providing health services to children living on the streets through the LimaKids: The Mobile Clinic.

STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK AT STONY BROOK SCHOOL OF MEDICINE INTERNATIONAL HEALTH INTEREST GROUP

The International Health Interest Group (IHIG) is a student run organization in the School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook that seeks to promote awareness of global health issues amongst students and faculty. In the recent past, interest in global health both at the faculty and student level at Stony Brook University has surged and led to the creation of funds for international health research, funding for a speaker’s series on international health, Spanish classes for medical students, and a concentration on international health in the new public health program. To facilitate student, resident and faculty exchanges, student members of IHIG created Stony Brook Global Health Collaborations (SBGHC), a 501(c)(3) organization within the Stony Brook Foundation. SBGHC seeks to create partnerships with organizations and medical schools abroad to promote ethical and sustainable projects in international health.
