極めて　"extremely; very; exceedingly; to a (high) degree"

１。　日本では読み書きができない成人は、極めて少ない。
　　　にほんではよみかきができないせいじんは、きわめてすくない。
　　　In Japan, there are extremely few adults who cannot read and write.
　
２。　特別な勉強をした人でない限り、一般の日本人にとって、シェークスピアの原典を読むのは極めて難しい。
　　　とくべつなべんきょうをしたひとでないかぎり、いっぱんのにほんじんにとって、シェークスピアのげんてんをよむのはきわめてむずかしい。
　　　Unless one has specially studied, reading the originals of Shakespeare is extremely difficult for the average Japanese person.
　　　
３。　事業に失敗して莫大な借金を抱えた友人は、極めて不利な条件で家を売らなければならなかった。
　　　じぎょうにしっぱいしてぼうだいなしゃっきんをかかえたゆうじんは、きわめてふりなじょうけんでいえをうらなければならなかった。
　　　My friend failed in business and deeply got into debt.  Therefore he had to sell his house at a great loss.
