Hagit Borer is Professor of Linguistics at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. Her research spans three sub-areas of linguistics: comparative syntax, morphosyntax and language acquisition.  She received her Ph.D. from MIT in 1981. Some relevant publications are Structuring Sense Volume I: In Name Only and Volume II: The Normal Course of Events (2004); "The Grammar Machine” (2003); and "Exo-skeletal vs. Endo-skeletal Explanations: Syntactic Projections and the Lexicon" (2003).
