Gennaro Chierchia is Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Psychology at the University of Milan-Bicocca. His main research interests are Semantics, Syntax-Semantics interface, Philosophy of Language, and Psycho-/Neurolinguistics. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1984. Some recent publications include (with Claudio Luzzatti) "On the Nature of Selective Deficits Involving Nouns and Verbs," in Rivista di Linguistica; (with Ira Noveck, Florelle Chevaux, Raphaelle Guelminger, and Emmanuel Sylvestre) "Linguistic-Pragmatic Factors in Interpreting Disjunctions,"in Thinking and Reasoning; and "A Semantics for Unaccusatives and its Syntactic Consequences,"in The Unaccusativity Puzzle: Studies on the Syntax-Lexicon Interface (Oxford University Press; originally written in 1979; published in the original version with a postscript).
