Henry Davis is Associate Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of British Columbia. His research interests include Salish linguistics (comparative and historical), Wakashan linguistics, syntax (configurationality, binding, argument structure), morphosyntax (agreement), lexical semantics (aspect and aktionsarten), crosslinguistic variation and parameter setting, learnability, language loss and language revival. He received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in 1987. Recent publications include “On the Syntax and Semantics of Negation in Salish,” in International Journal of American Linguistics; “Kayám: An Early St'át'imcets Text,” in Anthropological Linguistics; and “Remarks on Proto-Salish Subject Inflection,” in International Journal of American Linguistics.
