Yuji Takano is Associate Professor at Kinjo Gakuin University and received a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of California, Irvine in 1996. Research interests include syntactic theory, comparative syntax, and Japanese syntax. Some publications are “Object Shift and Scrambling,” in Natural Language & Linguistic Theory; (with Naoki Fukui) “Symmetry in Syntax: Merge and Demerge,” in Journal of East Asian Linguistics; and “How Antisymmetric Is Syntax?,” in Linguistic Inquiry.
