Putting It All Together

Thokbook has two ideas about what constitutes a book. One is a physical book, which can be located on a shelf, checked in or out, etc. The other is tied to an ISBN, and contains the bibliographic data for that book.

Let's look at how you might use Thokbook:

First, you'd add a book, by inputting a ISBN and a shelf-name where the book was normally located. Thokbook would then check that it was a valid ISBN, and if it was, it would add the information on the physical book to the database.

Then, it would try to look up the bibliographic data for that ISBN. If it found it, it would add that information to the database.

Then the user could do things like:
telling the database that the book was temporarily moved to another shelf, checking the book out if it was being lent to a friend, or adding a comment to the book entry.
