First McCormick Big Sis Lil' Sis Event! Tuesday, September 13th 7pm We are having a big-sis little-sis game night of epic proportions. Basically anything you ever wanted to play at Desk plus Dominion, Quao, and an infinite number of cards will be present. So that means you should be too! Those not a part of the big sis lil sis program are always welcome to join in. It will be Tuesday, at 7 pm. Don't forget, and be excited.

House Government Elections
Elections are next week!! We will be electing residents to fill all the positions on house government, except Orientation Chairs. Speeches will be given at the house meeting on Sunday, and the election will take place on Wednesday, December 10. The election format will be the same as last month. Ballots will be placed in mailboxes by 8am, and you must check your mail, submit your vote, and sign the sheet by 11:59pm. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Stephanie Couch McCormick Secretary.

McCormick Presidential Elections
The election for our new McC president will take place on Thursday, November 6. Ballots will be placed in every mailbox by 8am. At some point during the day, you should take the ballot, mark your vote, place the ballot in the box at desk, and sign the sheet. All votes must be submitted by Thursday night at 11:59pm.

Candidates’ statements will be posted on the windows in the lobby Saturday. They will remain on the windows until the election ends, so check out the candidates before you vote.

Speeches will be given at the house meeting this Saturday (11/1) at 2pm.

If you would like to run for president, please complete forms (that can be found in an email sent out to McCorm-I), and return them to me (Annex #295) by Friday at 11:59pm.

A Chorus Line - Get Tickets!
We have a limited number of tickets to see A Chorus Line on Sunday, September 21st at 7:30pm. We are selling these tickets for $15 each. Spring Crafts and Tea will be held tonight in the Country Kitchen at 9pm. Please join us for some yummy sweets. We will also be making colorful butterflies and origami birds, flowers and designs to hang in your room! Samples, instructions, colorful paper and thread provided.

3rd Pizza Dinner with the Housemasters will be held this Saturday (4/28) starting at 5pm in the Housemasters' suite. This is the official pizza night for girls living in 3W, 6W, and the annex. We'll be making our own personal pizzas out of fresh and healthy ingredients. There will be many wonderful toppings and Charles will make the pizza dough. It's going to be very yummy!

Sunset Cruise will be held on Friday, 5/4 from 7 to 9pm. Dress is semiformal. You may bring one non-McCormick guest. Tickets will be sold for $5 in the lobby from 4/23 to 4/25. Prices will increase to $8 during 4/26 and 4/27. There will be dinner and a performance by Resonance.

"Fashion Show: Paris Collections 2006": You've probably already heard good things about the MFA's special exhibit "Fashion Show: Paris Collections 2006." The exhibit closes on March 18th. Admission to the MFA and to this exhibit is free for MIT students! We'll leave from the McCormick lobby at 10:30 on Saturday morning and plan on getting back around 1 or 1:30PM.

We hope that the calendar will improve programming and coordination between the various groups in McC (GRTs, housemasters, housemanager, RAAs, house government). Please check out the new calendar for upcoming events.

McCormick Pumpkin Carve-Off! Ask your suitemates to form a design and carving team of 4-5 people, and create a Halloween Jack-o-Lantern to scare the wits out of your fellow residents! To reserve a pumpkin in advance, please sign up on your GRT's door.


Pumpkins on a Building! Don't miss out on this annual MIT Halloween tradition. Gather in front of the Green Building on Saturday, October 28th at 11:59 PM to witness the falling of and subsequent explosion of giant pumpkins, liquid nitrogenized pumpkins, and more as they are hurled from a height of more than 21 stories!






Shop 'til You Drop! On Saturday Oct. 21, we will be sponsoring a dorm-wide trip to Wrentham Village Outlet Mall. There are 170 outlet stores such as Couch, Bebe, Burberry, Gap, Nike, Sony, and much much more. What Charles River Clean-up
When Saturday, Sept. 16

Where Meet at MIT Boathouse
Why Help maintain and beautify the landscape along the Charles River. The jobs will consist of painting and cutting back invasive weeds which are encroaching the landscape and since this work will be on campus, we will be able to benefit from the results. You don't have to stay for the whole time - any assistance that you can provide would be great! Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Why It'll be fun! Tickets are $40 per resident, $75 for guest (1 guest per resident). This includes lift, ski rentals, lessons, and transportation to Pats Peak. You must rsvp by Mar 5th by E-mail, and checks/cash are due in Yalu Wu's mailbox at 807, with 1) resident's name 2) contact info (room number and/or cell/email) 3) type of ticket (ie include guest or not). What Les Miserables Broadway Show
When Sunday Feb. 19 at 7:30pm
Where Broadway in Boston
Why It will be a great opportunity to see a very popular show and hang out with other McCormick ladies. Plus, that weekend is a three-day weekend so there's no need to stress out over psets while enjoying Les Mis. Tickets will be on sale the week of Feb. 6. We will send out further emails for the exact ticket exchange and other details. We have limited numbers of tickets so the first week of sales will be limited to one per resident. If any are left after the first week of sales we will be opening ticket sales (encouragingly) to any residents who wish to bring guests!
