Target Seminars

"The MIT Japan Program has been a friend to 3M for many years. Their seminars have been eagerly attended by our employees in both the US and Japan. Most important, the advice and counsel received on cultural understanding to support collaborative technical efforts across the Pacific have benefited numerous projects. The service and support has been invaluable!"
K.B., 3M Corporation

Our Japan East Asia Target Seminars are segmented and tailored to the needs of our sponsors. The Program works with senior executives on strategy and other critical issues. It also conducts formal seminars for engineers and managers on creating effective cross-border communication and global project teams. Based on a decade of education and training experience in the MIT Japan Program, the Target Seminars offer the expertise developed at the Institute in the form of on-site seminars. The goal of these Seminars is to increase knowledge of the operations, technology, and cultural systems that have developed in Japan , and to increase the sponsor organization's effectiveness in dealing with Japanese partners, research organizations and competitors.

Japan Target Seminars, a "basic training course" on Japan , can be held on site, via teleconferencing, or via satellite.

Costs: The Target Seminars are offered as a one-day or two-days program.

One day for MIT Japan Program sponsors - expenses
One Day for non sponsors $4,000 plus expenses
Two days for MIT Japan Program sponsors - expenses

Distance Course on Japanese Business Practice

In 2000, the MIT Japan Program launched a four-week distance education module on effective cross-cultural business practice using Japan as a case study. The four-week course prepares executives to build effective relationships and networks with their Japanese counterparts. We are currently working with a number of our sponsors to incorporate this model into their training initiatives. If you are interested to learn more about the course curriculum please contact Patricia Gercik at 617-253-3142
