Welcome to StarLogo TNG

October 2007 - StarLogo TNG Beta 1.1 is released fixing a few small but signficant bugs in TNG Beta 1. Please download this update if you downloaded Beta 1 before October 30. (Note: the initial release of beta 1.1 was flawed. If you think you downloaded that version (before noon on October 30) then you can download this file, extract the archive and replace the lang_def.xml file in your "support" folder with the resulting file. That should fix the problem if you don't want to download and reinstall. We apologize for the inconvenience.)

StarLogo TNG is The Next Generation of StarLogo modeling and simulation software. While this version holds true to the premise of StarLogo as a tool to create and understand simulations of complex systems, it also brings with it several advances. Through TNG we hope to

  1. Lower the barrier to entry for programming by making programming easier.Entice more young people into programming through tools that facilitate making games.
  2. Create compelling 3D worlds that encompass rich games and simulations.

We released the first "preview" edition in January 2006, the second preview in May 2006, a third preview in July 2006, and the fourth preview in March 2007. The first full beta is being release in Fall 2007. It is Java based and is available on Windows, Mac OS X (as a universal binary) and now Linux (arrived a day late, but is now available). Some features include:
