StarLogo was created at the MIT Media Laboratory.

The Java version of StarLogo was designed and implemented by Mitchel Resnick, Andrew Begel, Eric Klopfer, Michael Bolin, Molly Jones, Matthew Notowidigdo, Sebastian Ortiz, Michael Mandel, Tim Garnett, Max Goldman, Julie Kane, Russell Zahnisher, Weifang Sun, and Robert Tau.

Prior development by Vanessa Colella, Bill Thies, Brian Silverman, Monica Linden, Alice Yang, Ankur Mehta, Adam Eames, Max Planck, and Sumita Kumar.

The Macintosh version of StarLogo was designed and implemented by Mitchel Resnick, Brian Silverman, Andrew Begel, Vanessa Stevens Colella, Carlos Mochon, and Dave Feinberg, with website assistance from Amy Fienup.

Mitchel Resnick of the Epistemology and Learning Group at the MIT Media Laboratory conceived StarLogo and implemented the original version on the Connection Machine.

Many others (including Hal Abelson, Rick Borovoy, Mario Bourgoin, Larry Latour, Seymour Papert, Randy Sargent, and Uri Wilensky) have contributed ideas to the design and use of StarLogo.
