In which our heroes ...

We find the roullette wheel of stat raising. You have a 1 in 6 chance of winning. If you win, your prime stat goes up to 104. If you lose, something else happens...

After much waffling, we leave.

No wait, we waffle some more.

Then we leave.

But on the way out, we waffle some more...

Then we leave.

In another room we find a glass cabinet covered with ice with a golden glow emenating from within. Kyrik melts the ice, and the glow fades. The case is empty.

Then we find the vault with a large lock. We avoid the symbols on the door. (Symbol of Pain anyone?) and open it. Yup, it's a casino vault. Filled with bags of coins.. And an undead guy. Who stands up. We attack!

Oathar finds 4235 platinum pieces. Oathar does a happy dance.

Having found everything there is to find here, we take the other bridge and come to a four way intersection. No signs or anything. Sniff. The writing on the gate says "Treasury Tower."

Alynna starts walking down the inside of the giant empty cylinder that is the treasury tower. She starts taking cold crits. Oathar is convinced the brind dragon is down there. Sigh.

We go to a different tower. Sigh.

We come to the tower of fighting. There are symbols of weapons all over the walls. There are heads mounted as tropies all over the place.

We come to a plaque. There a large human left hand sticking out of the plaque. "The hand of Tyr" Then we find a blackened horn with a plaque "Horn of an Astral Dreadnaught" Haeraan identifies this as a legendary cross planar being like an astral dragon/behemoth. Finally we find another head mounted. It has a plaque too. "Gustaithe" When it sees us it says, "Blah Blah Blah". Kyrik translates it as "Door south! Free me!" "Ascereak tell say go south door!"

We discover that healing seems only 75% effective. Then we go in the south door. There is a huge pillar trap that crushes people, so we heal and then proceed. We come to a titanium door with ice at the bottom. But otherwise sealed. We defrost the ice at the bottom and let Kyrik pull the door up. Inside are myriad spheres hanging on chains of copper. They are two foot spheres. What's up with that? The spheres emit a low hum. There's another door out of here. But as we cross the room the hum gets louder and louder. Magic doesn't seem to work here. We press on ahead into the vast noise. Ouch! Ouch ouch!

Alynna falls to teh sound. Oathar makes it through handily, but then goes back in to recover Alynna, and falls to the terrible sound. Imre goes down. Kyrik makes it and goes back for Haeraan, making it again. So Haeraan and Kyrik are across, while Imre Alynna and Oathar are incapacitated in the loud zone. Kyrik and Haeraan manage to fish them out though.

The plaque on the other side of the room has five randomly flashing gems. Magic Simon. No one can gather enough concentration to actually play that game. It's so distracting! Monko manages the first simon lock. We spend all of our gratuitous fate points and make it in. Having had the Dex, Con, and Memory tests, we wonder what's next.

The next zone is filled with swinging blades. Yeah, it's bad. Many reasoning tests later, Oathar, Alynna, and Imre make it through. Kyrik and Haeraan get sliced up a fair bit. Having passed all of the tests, people get healed up and we head up to the top. A dim violet glow leaks from the center of the chamber lined with weapons. Haeraan's morning star says it's time to get. A tall leathery skinne dhuman illuminated with an eerie violet glow steps out warpped in vapor and says "Stand fast, you who journey in the city that waits, if desire be to pass me into the gleaming tower, then your worth you must prove." We select a Champion, and if he wins we can all pass, if he loses we must leave and never return.

Epic battle! Haeraan wins, but only after going far into the red of Unpain land....

While Haeraan gets healed back up. Alynna seraches for non-cursed/evil loot.
