Orhan 3 Day 7 TE 6063

We finish devving to 21.

Around home, Alynna has a number of followers who are showing up to learn her personal school of Fist of the Star style.

Kyrik thinks a few researchers looking for a university spot have found one. They'll brief him on it in a few weeks.

We are sitting around at home when Oathar suddenly realizes that the bay of Orian matches up quite nicely with one of his pirate maps. Woo! There's treasure in them there waters.

We convene a meeting to discuss going to get the treasure, but suddenly Imre is teleported out. Diagnostics reaveal that yup, that was a minion summons.

We decide to wait a few days to see if he comes back right away before heading out.

Orhan 3 Day 8 TE 6063

Around sunset a freak thunderstorm heads into Selkai. We see a flowstorm out in the distance. Eidolon gets rained on and even tips slightly. It's quite scary. Later that evening the thunderstorm gets bigger, like it's being fled by the flowstorm. A couple of hours before midnight, there's a pounding at the door.

It's Andraax! "Do you have it, is it safe?" Oathar takes out the Ring of Andraax, and Andraax snatches it out of his hand. "Good."

He pokes at us a bit. "This date. Orhan 3 Day 8 TE 6063. It is important; remember it. Things have changed. I may not see you much. Do not attempt to contact me in any way at all. This is important. Just remember the date. If you need to contact me, you can talk to the Storm Wizard."

"I must go, remember Orhan 3 Day 8 TE 6063. Don't forget."

He then teleports out and takes the ring with him. We get a brief glimpse of blinky in the window when the lightning flashes, but then he's gone.

The thunderstorm stops.

Orhan 3 Day 9 TE 6063

We head down to Orian. One of Oathar's two new ships is quickly rechristened "The Treasure Hunter" and we set sail west towards the treasure.

Citzen Trask meets us on the docks. He says the citizenry is coming back into the city and things are pretty good for us. We discuss tax breaks for levies to get better control over their various household troops.

Kyrik takes one of the prisoners and learns his dialect. Oathar see to having his house repaired.

Orhan 3 Day 10 TE 6063

We set sail, but after half a day, the map doesn't match up so well. Oathar decides it looked better from underwater, so the party dives in while the ship drops anchor. We look around, but don't find a lot to see. A few watervision spells later, Haeraan sees something odd sticking out of a reef. As we approach, we see a coral encrusted shipwreck.

Yup, that looks like a treasure opportunity. It's about 125 feet long, and doesn't seem to be infested with the undead, though Haeraan does detect zombies at low levels. We proceed.

Oathar identifies the ship as The Black Pearl. Oh dear.

Haeraan sends a sense point into the captain's cabin. There's smashed furniture and rotten books and charts and stuff, with a few gleams of silverware and the like, but that's about it. Driving down the passage way are doors on either side. Doh, we think to check for curses.

Yup, we're cursed. Our fates are in fact intertwined with the fate of the Black Pearl. Sigh. We start losing Con as the ship starts getting better. Yeah, time to loot quickly. We head towards the cargo areas. Haeraan gets a 140 on an undead roll, and figures the undead will be condensing while we're here. We lose a second Con.

The ship is repairing itself with our Con. The forward mast goes back up while we try to loot the cargo area. Haeraan heads first into the hold. A shark goes for Haeraan. The shark does a few hits. Oathar long doors past the shark and land in the pile of zombies. We fight zombies while the shark leaves.

Oathar prays to Neela and remembers the ancient tale of Neela that once in an age past there was this rogueish captain by the name of Jack Sparrow. Oh dear. He charmed the hearts of women wherever he sailed. Among those he charmed was Neela herself. She fell in love but he was, alas, a pirate (and rogue). She mooned over him and Shaal saw her sighing and brought down his wrath upon the ship and sent up a Kracken which dragged Sparrow and the Pearl down to the locker. Oathar things Shaal will remove the curse if we destroy Sparrow permanently, or Neela would remove the curse if we restore Sparrow and his ship.

A bunch of zombies gather around an apple holding zombie (Barbossa) who says "Arrrrrrrrr. Unjustly we were punished"

Meanwhile Haeraan finds a chest with Jack Sparrow's stuff. Including his clothes and little compass.

Alynna starts slaying zombies. Kyrik engages Barbossa in combat. Haeraan guards Oathar. Oathar starts putting on Jack Sparrow's clothes.

Oathar gets all the clothes on and strikes a pose. Then he's filled with the presense of Jack Sparrow. He gets one round to decide to let him in or not, but decides Neela wants him to let him in. Oathar transforms into Jack Sparrow, greatest pirate on all the seas. He starts talking at Haeraan. "No need to fight me. Just put that morningstar away." He takes a round to leer at Alynna. Then he yells "Parlay!"

The zombies say, "I hate that word." Kyrik yells "Parlay!" The fighting stops. Barbossa and 'Jack' discuss matters.

Well, they start to discuss matters, but then 'Jack' starts hitting on Alynna. She flirts back.

Jack is disappointed that there simply aren't enough people in the party to form a proper crew.

He tries to bribe Oathar into sucking half the life out of his crew to restore the ship. He brings out a golden magical dress of fetchingness. Oathar suggests that Alynna try the dress on.

Oathar then makes sure that Jack is watching Alynna carefully and suddenly surrenders control of the body. Alynna ponders this strange behavior but does not leap into the breech.

Alynna finally starts flirting with Jack Sparrow. She gets an untrained Seduction roll at -15 ("Wait! Who knew Alynna didn't have Seduction skill! This puts a crimp in my plan." -Oathar) and Jack sort of bounces it....but he's willing to head up to the deck. Barbossa has had enough of this and restarts the fight. Haeraan jumps in to fight Barbossa.

Down in the hold, Barbossa and Kyrik and Haeraan and zombies . Up on deck Alynna and Jack are working on surfacing the ship/seducing each other.

The ship surfaces and Oathar's crew sees 'Oathar' and Alynna on deck so start crossing over. Desperate, Oathar grabs Alynna, kisses her and prays to Neela while they are embraced. A mermaid leaps onto the deck and then transforms to Neela. Apparently, Neela can tell that Oathar and Jack have both been naughty. But Jack start hitting on Neela. Kyrik tries to strike up a conversation about Elizabeth Terner. Jack tosses all the Charm and Seduction rolls he has at Neela. Oathar struggles to interrupt, but it doesn't work.

After several rounds to charm, Jack convinces Neela. She waves her arms and turns all the zombies into humans and restores all the life essence to the crew. Barbossa jumps overboard and starts swimming to shore. The Con drains stop. Jack steps out of Oathar's body. Now they're standing next to each other. Neela gives Jack a peck on the cheek and says she'll see you around. Neela whispers into Oathar's ear, "You got your kiss already: I won't tell if you won't." Oathar replies, "That's fair."

Captain Jack Sparrow decides to sail the seas. He and Oathar agree "No pirating while I'm around, or ships with that flag."

Jack tosses a coin over to Oathar. "If you ever need me, give me a call." Then The Black Pearl lifts out of the water and flies off.

We go up to 3 fate points. and Alynna gets to keep the golden dress.
