MIT Museum opens final gallery for MIT 150 exhibitionFriday, April 1 - December 31, 2011 Many visitors to the MIT Museum have enjoyed the MIT 150 Exhibition in the Thomas Peterson '57 Gallery and artifacts on display elsewhere on campus, including the MIT Libraries' Maihaugen Gallery. The final 19 objects on display in the Compton Gallery relate to special aspects of life at MIT. Highlights include one of the original wooden Tech Dinghy sailboats, WMBR's radio station console, Clarence Williams' monumental study Technology and the Dream, a Media Lab designed jacket worn by Keith Lockhart when directing Tech Night at the Pops in 1998 (above), and the most iconic object in the entire exhibition, MIT's Great Dome.
