The MIT Museum presents an exciting array of exhibitions and displays, providing a window into MIT's fascinating world of science and technology. The mission of the Museum is to share the creative energy of MIT, and to stimulate an understanding and appreciation of the meanings of scientific and technological innovation in the modern world.

Recently expanded by 5,000 square feet, the Museum's galleries present ongoing and changing exhibitions on science and technology and current research; architecture and design; and oceanography, underwater robotics and ship design. You'll find high-tech artifacts, prototypes, intriguing scientific instruments, historic photographs, amazing holograms, a scientific aquarium, and even ingenious kinetic sculptures. 	The Mark Epstein Innovation Gallery Two years in the planning, the Mark Epstein Innovation Gallery features topical, regularly changing exhibitions on the work of selected research groups at MIT.
	Robots and Beyond: Exploring Artificial Intelligence at MIT Ongoing An excursion into the exciting world of artificial intelligence at MIT. Interviews with robot designers and researchers, interactive displays and historical robotic devices, including the 1993 version of the sociable robot, Kismet.
	Flashes of Inspiration: The Work of Harold Edgerton Ongoing A multi-media celebration of the life and work of MIT legend, Harold "Doc" Edgerton, including his development of the electronic strobe and his dedication to making the invisible visible.
	Holography: The Light Fantastic Ongoing Eye-popping works drawn from the Museum's holography collection – the world's largest – that illustrate the artistic and scientific facets of the medium.
	Gestural Engineering: The Sculpture of Arthur Ganson Ongoing Stop, look, and laugh – ingenious, philosophical, and witty kinetic sculptures that can best be described as "Rube Goldberg meets Jean-Paul Sartre" (David Sims, Smithsonian Magazine).
	Learning Lab: The Cell Ongoing Step into the nucleus of a cell and get ready for a tour of the process that lies at the heart of all life: creating proteins with instructions written in DNA.
	Mind and Hand: The Making of MIT Scientists and Engineers Ongoing Time travel through student life and learning and experience firsthand what an MIT education is really like.
	Compton Gallery Red Lines, Death Vows, Foreclosures, Risk Structures Architectures of Finance from the Great Depression to the Subprime Meltdown September 9 - December 21, 2008 An exhibition exploring possible relationships between finance and buildings through an installation of models, videos, photographs, and drawings.
	Hart Nautical Gallery The Hart Nautical Gallery was designed as part of MIT's Pratt School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and opened in 1922. Today the gallery serves as a showcase for the Museum's exceptional ship models, as well as superb examples of ocean engineering technology developed at MIT in the exhibit, Deep Frontiers: Ocean Engineering at MIT.
