Ship models

Forty of the finest full-hull ship models from the MIT Museum’s Hart Nautical Collections depict the history of ship building, from a fifteenth century iron-clad warship to the swiftest clipper ships.

Included is an extraordinary model of N.G. Herreshoff's Reliance – winner of the 1903 America's Cup.

Located in the Hart Nautical Gallery (MIT Bldg. 5, a 10-minute walk from the MIT Museum).
