Inventions: 2014 Student Showcase
This exhibition features inventions and kinetic sculpture by MIT students, most of which were created as part of students' coursework. Chosen from submissions by a variety of MIT departments and labs, these projects exemplify MIT's legendary values of creativity, ingenuity and practical problem solving.
From the SproutsIO's smart-phone controlled appliance that grows fruits and vegetables in a soil-free environment, to WalkAcross, a display that shows real-time interactions between visitors in a space, to DrumTop, an interface that converts everyday objects into musical instruments, Inventions: 2014 Student Showcase covers a range of participatory concepts that will shine a light into our future.
Inventions: 2014 Student Showcase is a collaboration between the MIT Museum and the MIT Museum Studio, and is supported by the Council for the Arts at MIT.
