Thank you for your interest in vacation week workshops at the MIT Museum. The workshops below are for individual students in grade 6-12. For group reservations, please visit our group reservations page. Younger students are encouraged to participate in our drop-in activities and demonstrations throughout the week. If you are a middle or high school teacher interested in observing one or more of the workshops below, please contact the Museum's Education Coordinator.
Monday, Feburary 18 - Introduction to Robotics - WORKSHOP IS FULL - PRE-REGISTRATION CLOSED
Learn to program a LEGO Mindstorms robot and take a tour of the Robots & Beyond exhibition with a Museum educator. Recommended for grades 6-12.
Tuesday, February 19 - Structural Engineering - WORKSHOP IS FULL - PRE-REGISTRATION CLOSED
Try your hand at bridge-building using recycled materials in this introduction to architecture and civil engineering. Recommended for grades 6-8.
Wednesday, February 20 - Fish N Ships - WORKSHOP & WAIT LIST ARE FULL - NO NEW REGISTRATIONS
Be the first to experience the MIT Museum's new nautical engineering workshop and learn about nature-inspired engineering at MIT through hands-on experiments, a boat design challenge, and a tour of our popular Robotics exhibition. Recommended for grades 6-12.
Thursday, Feburary 21 - Visualizing Science - WORKSHOP & WAIT LIST ARE FULL - NO NEW REGISTRATIONS
Test your observation skills with artifacts from MIT research labs as you explore microscopy, biological engineering, nanoscience, and nanotechology research at MIT. Recommended for grades 6-12.
Friday, Feburary 22 - Physics & Photography - WORKSHOP & WAIT LIST ARE FULL - NO NEW REGISTRATIONS
Experiment with magnetism, wave motion, and strobe photography as you learn about MIT's rich history of science photography. Recommended for grades 6-12.
Saturday, February 23 - Hello Holography - PRE-REGISTRATION CLOSED - LIMITED WALK-IN SPACE AVAILABLE
Learn about the science behind 3D imagery as you explore the properties of light and the MIT Museum's captivating holography exhibition. Recommended for grades 9-12.
Information submitted below will be sent to the MIT Museum. If space is available in your requested workshop, you will receive an email within one week with online payment information. Pre-payment is required to confirm your reservation. If space is not available, we will place you on the wait list and notify you accordingly. Pre-registration closes 48 hours before workshop start time.
